Hello SLB 1!

I hope you have all had a great half term and enjoyed the beautiful weather!  I enjoyed talking to you all last week and hearing what you have been up to.

This week our book is Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs by Ian Whybrow.  There is a recording of me reading this story on the storytime page here.  Welcome to dinosaur week!!

Our story for this week is Whatever Next by Jill Murphy

Week Beginning: 11.05.20

Well done to everyone for staying home, protecting the NHS and saving lives.  I am so proud of all of you!  It's been lovely seeing all the things you have been getting up to.

I thought you might like to see a photo of the beautiful flowers we planted outside our classroom in full bloom.  What flowers have you seen in your garden or on your walks?  Can you send me some photos?  What colours did you see?  Can you learn the parts of a plant?

Our new book for this week is The Very Busy Spider.  I hope you enjoy the activities I have found for you!

Take care!

Week Beginning: 04.05.20

Hi everyone,

The book for this week is The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

I have added some activities around our book and finding out about the life cycle of a butterfly.  There are some activities you can do on Purple Mash and Education City too.

My girls and I have used the app ‘stop motion’ to create stop animation videos.  I wonder if you could have a go and send me your finished video?

Stay safe,

Mrs Crichton x

Week Beginning: 27.4.20

Hi everyone,

Thank you for all the hard work you have been doing at home!  I have loved seeing the photos and videos of you, please keep sending them to me.

I hope you have enjoyed the work so far.  The book for this week is The Night Pirates.

I have added some activities around our book and finding out about pirates.  Remember, you don't need to do them all.  They are just some ideas and there are lots of links to other sites to help you with your learning too.  Please keep trying to read daily and incorporate some learning into your everyday lives.  Most of all, stay happy and safe.

See you soon,

Mrs Crichton x
